About ABT
Andrew Burrows-Trotman graduated with a Double Honours degree in English and History from the University of Toronto before attending the American Film Institute’s Screenwriting MFA programme in Los Angeles.
He was later hired by Miles Maker to write a feature screenplay called IF WE LEFT, which was shortlisted for the San Francisco Film Society’s Hearst Grant.
Andrew was then hired by Conquering Lion Productions and Insight Productions to work on several TV series, including, FRANKIE DRAKE MYSTERIES, DIGGSTOWN, and UTOPIA FALLS.
He has written an episode and served as a consulting producer for the BET+/CBC Original drama THE PORTER.
Andrew recently received support from the Canada Media Fund’s Early Stage Development Program for his TV pilot THE BACOO, and was chosen to participate in the inaugural WarnerMedia Access X Canadian Academy Writers Program for 2021, where he will complete another original TV pilot, THE SHUT INS. Andrew also received funding from the Black Screen Office for his historical drama BLACKSTAR.
